4 card poker rules you should know
Whether you play poker online or at a land-based casino, there are several rules that you should understand. Learn them before you play so that you’ll know what you’re doing.
Payouts depend on the dealer’s hand
Using only four cards, players compete to produce the best poker hand. The dealer’s hand is exposed after all players have finished their turns. The player’s hand wins if it is better than the dealer’s.
The game includes a variety of betting options. A player can place an ante wager, a play wager, or both. Some tables offer a progressive jackpot. As the jackpot grows, the odds of winning are better.
The Pair Plus bet is a bonus wager that pays out if your three card poker hand contains a pair or better. This bet requires players to make a wager that is at least double the minimum table wager on each spot.
There is also a “Aces Up” side bet available on the four card poker table. This is an optional bonus bet that pays out if the dealer makes a blackjack hand. The odds aren’t the best, but the jackpot is worth the gamble.
The mini-royal flush is at the top of the poker hand rankings. This is the highest paying hand in the game.
Ante bets
ANTE bets in 4 card poker are an optional side bet. This is a wager that the Player’s four-card hand will beat the Dealer’s four-card hand. The wager is paid out if the hand is better than the Dealer’s.
The wager must be made before the cards are dealt. Players may place an ANTE bet for as much as three times the amount of the PLAY wager. The ANTE is usually a quarter or half of the minimum wager.
The ANTE and PLAY wagers are paid out 1 to 1 when they win. However, a player may also win a bonus amount depending on the ante wager. For example, if the player bets the ante and the Aces Up bet, he will win a bonus of 1 to 3 times the ANTE wager.
Aside from the Ante and the Play wagers, Four Card Poker also offers an optional Aces Up wager. The ACES UP bet is a wager that the player’s four-card hand will contain at least two aces. This bet pays out according to a posted pay table.
Play wager
Depending on the game you are playing, you may need to make a play wager to win a hand. A play wager is a bet that your hand will beat the dealer’s hand. When you make a play wager, you will receive an even money payout for your wager.
When playing Four Card Poker, you may place a Play Bet in addition to your Ante wager. The Play Bet may be up to three times the ante bet.
You may also place an Aces Up bet, which is a $1 progressive side bet. When you place an Aces Up wager, you are betting that you will make the best four-card poker hand. You can also choose to bet against the dealer. The dealer will use the best four cards from his six cards. When you play against the dealer, you can bet up to three times the Ante bet.
Four-Card Poker is a variation of Blackjack. It is played with a 52-card deck on a Blackjack type table.
Progressive wager
During a hand of Four Card Poker, players will have the option to make either an ante or a play bet. If they make an ante bet, the player is wagering that their hand will beat the dealer’s hand. When the player beats the dealer, the player will be paid 1 to 1. If they do not beat the dealer, the player will win a tie. Similarly, if the player makes a play bet, the player will be paid 1 to 1.
Players will have the option to make an optional $1 progressive side bet. The payout for this side bet is based on the parable, which is shown on the table. In addition, players may qualify for an “Envy” bonus. An Envy bonus pays out when any other player makes a Royal Flush, Straight Flush, or Ace-King-Queen of spades. However, players cannot win an Envy bonus for their own hand.
The Progressive wager is a chance for players to win more often. To qualify for the jackpot, a player must have a hand that is three of a kind or better. The payout for this jackpot is usually five to six figures. The jackpot is usually won by players who have a Royal Flush or Straight Flush.
